Kingman, Ind - Walter "Butch" Grubbs, 69 of Kingman died at 9 am. Sunday Nov 13, 1977 at his home. Born in Indiana December 25, 1907 he was the son of Charles & Jennie McMaster Grubbs. He was married to Mildred McMasters who died Dec 12, 1969. He later married Mercedas McGinnis who survives. He owned and operated the Maris & Grubbs Grocery Store, Kingman since 1933 and later the Kingman IGA. He was a member of the Kingman Masonic Lodge F & AM 314, Kingman Order of Eastern Star 204; Sword of Bunker Hill 87 and W. Union Ill; Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute; Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute; Wallace Low 12 Club & Wallace Cabalistic Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Evelyn) Walker of TH; two stepdaughters, Jodie Thompson of Kingman and Mrs. Susan Richardson of Kingman; a stepson, Eugene Thompson of Danville, Ill; a brother, Donald of Kingman; a granddaughter and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and sister. Services will be 2 p.m. EST Wednesday at Woodrow Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gallagher officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery east of Yeddo. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday at the funeral home. - kbz
